Patrick R. Neenan of Seaford died on November 12.
Mr. Neenan was a graduate of Seaford High School who enlisted in the United States Navy. He had recently finished his military service and returned home to Seaford.
Mr. Neenan was killed by a work train in the early hours of the morning, Newsday reported. Authorities believe the accident may have occured when Mr. Neenan tried to retrieve his iPod, which had fallen on the tracks, Newsday said. The Citizen’s calls to the Long Island Rail Road police were not returned by press time.
He was the son of Robert and Margaret Neenan, the grandson of Marion Neenan and the late Arthur Neenan as well as the late Patrick and Patricia Kerley. Patrick Neenan was also the brother of Daniel and Brendan Neenan.
Viewing will be on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, 3863 Merrick Road in Seaford. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford. He will be buried at Calverton National Cemetery.
